I woke up to the sound

of wind,

of my breath,

of my feet touching the land,

of my body walking into the field

My fingers curving around the bark of each tree I pass,

my toes sinking deeper into the soil,

above roots connecting crop to crop,

beneath the bright pink sunrise of the sky,

above legacies of growth

And in this body, an awakening

And in this journey, a portal towards becoming

And in this world, discoveries

of ancestral knowledge

Of abundance

Of listening to the land

Of reciprocity

Of food that meets the body

With crops of culture

With recipes that hold history

With family tradition

With care and nourishment

With seeds of memories

With new ways to grow

And when I looked around

a vast network of

beginnings and endings

let me know

I have never been alone
