ARTIST STATEMENT
As a live painter, I am rooted in improvisation as a source of liberation, worldbuilding and archiving.
As a practice of meditation, each painting is improvised in real time. I intuitively explore color and shapes with the resounding truth that we are all creative beings here to reflect creation back at itself. Each body is a conduit for capturing the vibrations and energy of the cosmos. I connect with this energy on the canvas through improvised acrylic paintings that visually represent the maps of movement, form and future world building that are channeled from this stored knowledge within the body. I am a witness to the dance between body and mind as they try to hear each other across timelines of experience through the alchemy of deep surrender, presence and transmutation. I am in practice with listening to the ancestors of the land and the elements. I am in dialogue with honoring the spiritual rebellion that emerges from my body’s desire to liberate itself from oppressive systems through creation.
